Relationships are often the nearest and dearest parts of our lives and yet, they are the very things that can trigger and send us over the edge in seconds flat.Â
Our connections with others are front and center for many of us because we are spending more time together these days.
Now feels like the most beautiful time to dive deep into some of the simple tools that can empower us in this important and transformational part of our lives.
I used to be someone who sought happiness in my circumstances and relationships.
When people and things lined up – life was good!Â
But the moment someone stepped out of line, or the circumstances took a wrong turn – so did my mood. Or the entire day for that matter.
It wasn’t until I was introduced to the idea that it might not be about seeking happiness in our relationships, but rather, a matter of finding all the barriers within yourself and your mental landscape that prevent you from having it.Â
This revolutionary concept changed everything for me.
Lucky for us, there are some helpful tools we can apply to these moments in our relationships and with ourselves. We’re going to dive into different scenarios and I’ll walk you through exactly how to navigate these sometimes sticky situations so you don’t have to let your next detour spoil the whole trip.
You know how it feels when you’re frantically looking for a misplaced item around the house?Â
I have found, when I shift my focus to cleaning things up instead of desperately searching – the item generally ends up appearing underneath something else as I’m tidying up.Â
The same is true when it comes to our relationships.
When we shift our focus from looking for happiness to finding the barriers that keep us from having meaningful connections, we create space for something new to emerge.
When it boils down to it, it’s all a matter of where we place our focus. You get to choose.Â
The power to feel satisfied in your relationships is already within you!
Your job is to do the work and remove the obstacles that are in the way of experiencing those things in the now.
Don’t worry, I’m going to show you how!
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be exploring different barriers that come up in our relationships with one another, the stories we tell ourselves about those happenings, and how we can courageously face the obstacles in order to find the solutions that are hiding underneath.Â
You should know too, that the rabbit hole we sometimes have to go down to find the truth within ourselves is not always linear. But together, we can start to turn over some stones to see what’s underneath.Â
